Here’s 11 why Hopes and Dreams is different:

1. We only go where there is extreme poverty, the cost of living is less than $2.00 per day
2. We specialise by going into remote untouched rural areas
3. We collaborate with grassroots partners and community groups
4. We empower and equip by working together on community owned development projects that create long term self sustainable solutions
5. We give respect by engaging appropriate authority from village leadership before projects commence
6. We encourage teamwork by establishing committees whom are involved during all phases of a project
7. We build value in people by teaching them how to fish, so they don’t have to depend on others
8. We build resilience not reliance by giving a ‘hand up and not a hand out’
9. We educate by training the community in pump maintenance and Sanitation and Hygiene
10. All board members in Australia and internationally are volunteers and are not paid for their board positions.
11. Between 90%-100% of funds received go towards our projects, i.e. a maximum of 10% administration fees.
